Cycling show rolls on in

A CYCLING safety design workshop will roll into Melbourne later this week.
Supported by Vicroads and TAC, this one day event featuring Dutch cycling expert Arie Vijfhuizen will be held on Friday 20 March.
A road traffic engineer with over 30 years’ experience, Mr Vijfhuizen brings a wealth of knowledge in traffic engineering, road safety, traffic management and integrated spatial planning.
Topic to be covered include:
* Cycling facilities on high volume multi-lane arterial roads;
* Multi-lane roundabouts;
* Single lane roundabouts;
* Areas where pedestrians and cyclists mix;
* Designs for street cross-sections for new bicycle networks in urban renewal areas;
* Planning and design for schools; and
* Facilities for a local retail village ‘high street’
This invitation-only workshop is designed for technical designers, as well as traffic and road safety engineers.
