LIVING green doesn’t cost the Earth.
Cardinia Shire Council plan to inspire residents to live a greener lifestyle at its 2015 Sustainability Expo next month.
The exhibition, which will run from 10am until 3pm at Cardinia Cultural Centre on Saturday 2 May will include free children’s activities, earth-friendly products, information about renewable energy alternatives and a live demonstration of a smoothie being blended with pedal power.
Mayor Cr Leticia Wilmot said the expo would be a great inspiration for all Cardinia Shire residents, whether they were already living a ‘green life’ or just looking at options.
“The expo is always a great day out and there are some fantastic exhibitors and activities available for this year. I am looking forward to attending,” Cr Wilmot said.
“This event has a fun and relaxed environment to learn about solutions that can save you money, and be a little kinder to the earth, without cutting back on your lifestyle – it is not about making people feel guilty.”
Fair trade products such as jewellery and local organic food and wines will also be up for sale at the expo.
In the spirit of sustainability, residents are encouraged to arrive actively by riding or walking to the event and bring re-usable bags and drink bottles.
