CONCERNS facing people with disabilities and their caretakers were raised at a disability forum in Berwick last week.
Assistant Minister for Social Services Senator Mitch Fifield attended the La Trobe Disability Forum at blind school Insight Education Centre along with a number of attentive locals and advocates including CEO of Irabina Autism Service Deb Goldfinch.
Funding around the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was a hot topic at the forum along with employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Senator Fifield was appointed Assistant Minister for Social Services on 16 September 2013, with responsibility for disabilities and ageing.
The event was hosted by Federal Member for La Trobe Jason Wood.
