System is broken

I am the owner of Mod Hair Studio at 25 Westernport Road in Lang Lang.

My shop was broken into overnight between Friday 1 May and Saturday 2 May.
I arrived at 8.45am on Saturday morning to find the front door had been jarred open. I called the police straight away and was told to touch nothing, so therefore I had to greet clients outside and explain to them the shop had to close until police arrived.
It was not until 12.24am – four hours later – that a policeman arrived and dusted for prints.
I lost income for the whole morning.
I later found out they had also tried to break in at the butcher and optometrists…. It seems having no station manned in Lang Lang gives the criminals free range on what they can do in town. With no patrol they can take their time and try as many shop entries as they please.
We have a newly done up station and it seems the government can afford to refurbish all police stations but can’t find the funds to man them and in the meantime we are waiting hours for police to come from an already busy suburb of Narre Warren which I think is disgraceful.
What if next time it’s a matter of life and death?
