A WELL-KNOWN Gembrook artist will submit her works to the Yakkerboo Art Show later this month.
Sue Jarvis, a long-term active promoter of arts in Cardinia Shire, has entered the annual competition for many years and will do so again this year with around 500 other entrants.
“I like to enter this show as it is important that residents of Cardinia get an opportunity to see what local artists are doing. There are no boundaries for entry and I have seen the show grow and change over the years,” Sue said.
She said the show’s inaugural Wearable Art category will make for interesting viewing.
“It is becoming more relevant and reflective of everyday life. Artists feel it is very much their show and I love the diversity and breadth of style that they bring,” she said.
“This year I am excited to see the new special category ‘Wearable Art’ I am looking forward to seeing how creative everyone can dress up for the occasion.”
Sue has celebrated many artistic successful including her recent title as finalist for the Shirley Hannan Portrait Prize in Bega and finalist in the Gallipoli Prize in Sydney.
The Yakkerboo Art Show will be held from Friday 29 May to Sunday 31 May at Pakenham Hall.
