A SMALL score victory was claimed triumphantly by Seaford in a 10-8 win over Cranbourne’s VWFL Division-1 side.
10 goals? Eight behinds? Nope. Seaford thumped 1.4 (10) to Cranbourne’s more minute 1.2 (8) – with scoring tough enough at Casey Fields on Sunday that the half time score was 2-0 favouring the Eagles in a soccer-style score-line.
Thankfully a couple of goals were earned… in the hardest way possible as Hayley Wildes booted Cranbourne’s only major of the afternoon before Seaford stole back the lead and took the two-point win.
Cranbourne’s Division-3 side fared better against the Tigers, taking a 2.5 (17) to 0.1 (1) triumph.
Everything is faring much better for Endeavour Hills in its inaugural VWFL campaign – blasting away to another thumping win to keep its place atop the VWFL Division-3 ladder.
The very miserly Falcons have only let in 15 points throughout their three matches so far this season and don’t intend to change that any time soon as they restricted the Sharks to a meagre seven.
In reply Endeavour Hills piled on the goals from all angles as Sarah Wallace (five goals) and Madeleine Williams (three goals) led the forward charge.
The Wallace sisters – Sarah and Jessica – as well as Sarah Beattie, Amanda Hancock and Rebecca Sadler were best afield.
Endeavour Hills’ seconds were knocked off 2.3 (15) to Rosebud’s 4.8 (32) in the other Falcons’ clash of the day.
In Division 4 Hallam was shut out by Chirnside Park 0.0 (0) to 14.7 (91).
