Brothers taste first blood

Mid-Gippsland Junior Badminton Association

MATCH of the week went to the tournament between A-Grade Warragul and Labertouche, with the Ottrey brothers drawing first blood by winning the first doubles.
Warragul however won the next two doubles giving them an eight-ace lead. The Ottrey brothers then got Labertouche back into the lead with wins in the singles but Tim Bloye for Warragul spoiled the party by winning his singles easily.
The E-Grade Bayles and Drouin match up also gets an honourable mention as every game was close and the result could have gone either way.
Sadly this week four teams put their scoresheets in late – the penalty for a late scoresheet is four match points – teams don’t need to be losing points.
Both the Gippsland Junior Individual Closed Tournament and the Mid-Gippsland Junior Closed Tournament are coming up. Check details with your club and please enter.
