BEACONHILLS College students at the Pakenham campus have been exploring learning through hands-on fun.
The campus will host a Celebration of Learning, highlighting the diversity of learning offered within their middle school.
Head of Middle School Learning Monica Doman described the event as “a wonderful exhibition of the scope and breadth of learning in middle school.”
“It’s an opportunity for students to showcase to parents, grandparents and friends what they have learned and celebrate their achievements.”
The evening will showcase the talented students participating in activities like theatre sports, science experiments and displays of their work.
Middle school students Kiara V and Jasmin A said it was fascinating to learn about Shakespeare and London’s Globe Theatre, where his plays were performed.
Jasmin said she enjoyed learning how to write a sonnet: “I realised how talented Shakespeare was to write 154 sonnets.”
Students will be able to dress up as someone from the era they have studied.
Other highlights will include an art exhibition, French and Japanese plays and performances, and samples of food created by students from the eras they are studying.
The Celebration of Learning will run from 4.30-6.30pm on Thursday 18 June in the Lois Maghanoy Centre for Performing Arts, Beaconhills College, Pakenham. Entry is free.
