Man sprayed in arrest

AN OFFICER man was doused in capsicum spray after violently resisting police who were attempting to arrest him over suspected family violence.
At 7.20pm on Friday 12 June, police attended an Officer address to arrest a 41-year-old man suspected of committing family violence offences at a separate address.
Senior Sergeant Nathan Prowd from Pakenham police said officers used OC foam on the man to apprehend him after he violently resisted arrest.
The man, who received after care at the Officer address, was later taken to Pakenham Police Station where he was issued with a family violence safety notice until the issue is heard through the courts.
He may also face criminal charges for refusing to comply with and resist police arrest.
No officers were injured as a result of the incident.
