Peeved over ‘ridiculous’ break

The Pakenham store has the Andrews Government to thank over the 'ridiculous' public holiday on Friday.

THE upcoming Grand Final Day eve public holiday has received mixed reactions from the community.
The majority of business owners seem peeved over the break to say the least, with many forced to shut their doors or pay hiked rates for the once-ordinary weekday.
Sewing Connection in Pakenham has not kept their thoughts on the new public holiday a secret, pasting a sign out the front of their store, warning customers they will be closed on the “ridiculous” Friday 2 October public holiday.
The business joins a chorus of other retailers across Cardinia Shire that are not impressed with the Andrews Government initiative.
Some have chosen to close, others will stay open – but all expect to lose a sum of money as a result on the footy break.
