Three injured in smash

[UPDATE 5.40PM] A WOMAN in her thirties involved in an accident on McGregor Road Thursday afternoon October 1 has arrived at The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said that the patient was treated extensively at the scene before being airlifted, suffering head and chest injuries. The air ambulance departed from the Pakenham Secondary College oval, about 4.30pm.
The woman driving the other car, also in her thirties, has been taken by road to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with neck and back injuries, but was reported in a stable condition.
Also in the car was a primary school aged boy, taken by road to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition. He was suffering inujuries to the hip and abdomen as well as significant facial injuries.
McGregor Road has now re-opened to traffic.

A YOUNG boy and two women in their 30s have been injured in a two-car collision on McGregor Road in Pakenham this afternoon.
An air ambulance is due to take off from Pakenham High School oval to take an injured woman to The Alfred hospital.
Would-be rescuers at the scene said they were unable to operate the door handles of the badly-damaged cars but emergency services arrived in a matter of minutes.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene just after 3pm to treat three patients.
A woman believed to be in her 30s is in a critical condition with head and chest injuries.
A primary school-aged boy is in a serious but stable condition and was taken by road to the Royal Children’s Hospital with head, abdominal and hip injuries and significant facial injuries.
Another woman in her 30s was trapped inside her car for some time and was in a stable condition with back soreness.
McGregor Road is closed between Cunningham Crescent and Princes Highway.
