AFGHAN youths gathered to spread the message of peace and unity on Australia Day.
The One Vision Aid (OVA) event at Cardinia Reserve Park in Emerald attracted about 200 people who enjoyed playing in a volleyball tournament, hearing poetry and taking part in Afghanistan’s national dance, the Attan.
Helmand Obaid, one of the people who attended, said he was impressed with the celebration of diversity at the event.
“Today’s event showed the ability of the local youth to unite under one banner of peace and to become the ambassadors of peace for our society,” he said.
OVA is dedicated to providing positive role models to young people, particularly afghan youths.
