PHIL Roberts was halfway through Year 7 at Beaconhills College when he was diagnosed with Leukaemia.
After graduating in 2015, the 18-year-old is now healthy and planning a career in the film industry. On 26 and 27 February, he and mum Annie will walk in the Cardinia Relay for Life – an overnight event to raise funds and support for the Cancer Council.
Beaconhills College entered its first team into the relay when Phil was in Year 8, and have participated every year since.
In 2016, five of the school’s houses will take part in the event, which is expected to draw hundreds of participants and supporters to Pakenham’s Toomuc Reserve and raise thousands for the Cancer Council. 150174_01 Picture: ROB CAREW
