POLICE have tracked down and charged a man who allegedly ran down a cyclist in a hit-run in Pakenham last week.
The 21-year-old Frankston man has been charged with conduct endangering life in addition to other related offences following the serious hit-run on Monday 4 April.
It was alleged the man drove up the back of the cyclist as he was travelling east on Bald Hill Road in Pakenham, about 10.10am that morning.
Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the man soon after he was struck.
They worked on him as he lay on the bitumen, and later transferred him to hospital.
Police said he sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
A crime scene was soon established by police working to locate the driver, who fled soon after colliding with the male cyclist.
The accused was eventually located, interview and charged in relation to the crash.
He has been bailed to appear at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 16 June.
