Intruders have ‘smashing’ time

OFFENDERS smashed almost every wall of a Pakenham home, turned on the heater system and opened up all the windows in a senseless string of petty crimes targeting the vacant premises.
Police investigating the crime said the house on Howey Road, Pakenham, was ransacked in the destructive spree thought to have taken place between noon on Wednesday 30 March and 10.50am on Thursday 14 April.
In addition to smashing the walls and turning on the internal heating system, the offenders stole a couch, microwave and personal paperwork.
Damage costs are estimated to be over $2000.
Police are investigating the damage.
