THE popular annual Hillview Quilt and Craft Show will run over three days from Friday 19 August to Sunday 21 August, opening from 9.30am until 3pm each day.
A large number of people from all over Gippsland is expected to attend over this weekend.
The quilt and craft display will be at Hillview Bunyip Aged Care, 22 A’Beckett Road in Bunyip. It is run by Friends of Hillview, a community committee of volunteers that raises funds through various activities to purchase items of equipment for the staff and residents at Hillview Aged Care.
“We have a hard working dedicated committee and receive great support from the community,” show organiser Mrs Barbara Dickinson said.
From humble beginnings 12 years ago, this annual event has grown to become one of this area’s top drawcards, attracting exhibitors and visitors from near and far.
Show organiser Barbara Dickinson said the quality of the quilts on display last year showed that more people were taking up the art of quilting and many were producing and showing magnificent quilts.
To submit an entry is only $2, and quilters are encouraged to show off their work.
There will also be patchwork and craft stalls, a barbecue, stationary engine display as well as delicious Devonshire teas.
“Our quilt show draws interest from a wide circle of Gippsland residents, who have come back each year, as well as attracting new visitors,” Barbara said.
