Bush food at morning tea

Beaconhills Junior School students Anya V, Isabelle M, Ryder C and Zach D collect Warrigal greens and lemon myrtle from the Indigenous garden.

Beaconhills College will throw its doors open for its annual open morning at the Pakenham and Berwick campuses on Tuesday 16 August.
The free event will include a morning tea at the Pakenham Campus, featuring bush food ingredients from the college’s Indigenous food garden.
Children will also enjoy playing on the Junior School’s amazing 10m-long pirate ship called The Toomuc Treasure, which has a real ‘plank’ to walk, a treasure chest, barrel, anchor and bells.
Visitors are invited to the Junior School Discovery Centre and mini-maze, or can wander through the buildings, sporting grounds and performing arts precinct. Students and teachers are on hand to answer questions.
The event runs from 9-11am. Details: www.beaconhills.vic.edu.au
