Real stories hit home

NO MATTER how much you hear the rhetoric about the need to stamp out domestic violence, it really doesn’t hit home until you hear a victim tell their story.
Krystal’s ex-partner and father of her three children was a wonderful, caring man, but years of drug abuse took their toll and triggered a severe mental health condition.
Alan became delusional, believing at times he was a secret agent needing to fight against aliens.
He became physically violent with her, kidnapping the children and traumatising them beyond belief.
Krystal will share her story on how she overcame life’s challenges and fought to protect her children from their father.
Held on the eve of Mental Health Week, Windermere’s Afternoon of Wellness affords women the opportunity to take time out from their fact paced lives and discover strategies
for great mental health; Windermere Counsellor Fiona Link-Freeman will give attendees the tools needed to unhook from life’s pressures, silence their inner critic and live in the
moment.
Guests will also be inspired by Herald Sun columnist Susie O’Brien, who will share the not so glamorous side of being in the spotlight, and how she navigates through life’s tricky
situations, while still staying true to her beliefs and raising her three children.
We all have our own struggles, but everything we need in life is found simply through being ourselves, it’s time to be your best you, so grab your bestie, mum, sister, daughter, work
colleague, grandma or aunty and treat yourselves to a relaxing afternoon of wellness.
