PAKENHAM retirees got dolled up for Evergreen Retirement Village’s annual op shop fashion show.
Village resident Mary Walker, who volunteers at the Main Street Pakenham Vinnies, was MC of the event which showcased clothes and accessories loaned from the op shop.
Residents modelled five outfits each from Vinnies while audience members guessed the total cost of each outfit, with many surprised by the extent of the bargains.
Each had a different theme such as a day at the races, going to the gym or beachwear.
Evergreen’s Sharyn Allsopp said the clubhouse was brought to life on Tuesday 11 October.
“The way they decorated the clubhouse looked amazing. It was covered in individual butterflies. Everyone just had the best time,” she said.
“It was funny to see a different side to some of the girls. Some of the quiet ones were flashing their legs out their skirt and strutting their stuff on the catwalk.
“Everyone had a huge amount of fun.“
Ms Allsopp said she was surprised by some of the race day wear bargains, with some outfits costing $20 to $30.
Afternoon tea was provided following the fashion show and clothing from Vinnies was available to purchase.
Gold coin donations were collected, with all proceeds given to Vinnies.
