Bypass roadworks around the corner

VicRoads will be undertaking night time roadworks on the inbound lanes of the Pakenham Bypass from
next week.
Weather permitting, the works are scheduled to start on Sunday 13 November and will be completed
within the week.
VicRoads Metro East director of Operations Michael Barker said the roadworks would occur between 8pm
and 5am on the inbound lanes between the McGregor Road bridge and the Cardinia Road bridge.
“We’ll be undertaking preparatory patching works, which are necessary prior to resurfacing work
scheduled for early next year,” Mr Barker said.
“One lane will remain open and the speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h for the protection of our
workers and all road users.
“The Pakenham Bypass is still a busy road at night time, so we do ask that road users allow for extra
travelling time if they are making the journey during these hours,” Mr Barker said.
Mr Barker said this was the start of the roadwork season following a lengthy winter.
“With the weather conditions improving, we are able to progress our maintenance program which
includes patching and resurfacing those arterial roads in need,” Mr Barker said.
