Charges after cars dodge police

AN ALLEGEDLY stolen car was driven at police in Pakenham, accompanied by another car which was thought to have been used in a suspected burglary.
Police said both cars failed to stop during police intercepts but were eventually seized and their alleged drivers arrested and charged.
The incident began when police said the cars failed to stop at a routine intercept at O’Shannessy Street, Pakenham, at 8.15am on Wednesday 23 November.
Witnesses later reported the Honda and Commodore loitering in Laurel Lane, Pakenham.
When police arrived, the Honda was allegedly driven at officers on the wrong side of the road and both vehicles then drove off.
The Honda was found a short time later at an address at Howey Road, Pakenham.
A 24-year-old Pakenham man was arrested at the scene and was charged with conduct endangering life and several other traffic offences.
Police are investigating whether the car was used in a possible burglary in the street.
The next day police were attending an unrelated matter when they spotted the Commodore.
A 25-year-old Clyde man who was allegedly driving the vehicle was arrested at the Beaconsfield Motel at about 9.30am on Thursday 24 November.
The man was charged with offences including evading police in addition to other unrelated matters.
