Gifts galore at garage sale

Mrs Claus is all ready for the big Tynong Town Garage Sale.

Sunday 4 December will be a busy day for Tynong residents, with over 10 homes opening up for the Tynong Town Garage Sale.
Tables will be set up in the new Tynong Fire Station on Longwarry Road, Tynong. As well as household items and bric-a-brac, there will be a huge variety of goods for sale ranging from new, good quality prints priced from $10, homemade craft items, prewrapped gifts from $5, green glassware and collector teddies, toys, books, CDs, DVDs and original paintings.
There will be a great display of plants, stag ferns and Xmas hydrangeas. There is one particular home that is selling all of the household items to clear at bargain prices.
During the day, the Tynong Fire Brigade will provide information on how the brigade can protect the community over the coming summer months, and what should be done to prepare. The Fire Brigade Auxiliary will run a sausage sizzle and merchandise table, featuring the new 70th Anniversary stubbie holders, as well as their popular “Supporter” clothing items.
There will be a mini market at the old Fire Station on Railway Avenue, and it will have as a speciality, a huge range of new industrial bolts and screws at bargain prices. Also available are bulk cleaning products and tables of goodies from neighbouring households.
As a special treat for those visiting Tynong for the sale, each of the locations will have maps showing all of the houses and stalls taking part on the day.
For those that manage to visit at least half of the places on the map, they will go into a draw for a hamper to be drawn on the day.
And if you should find Mrs Claus, you will get an extra ticket in the draw.
So if you are looking for that special Christmas gift, then Tynong could be the place you will find it. Look out for the coloured balloons outside the participating houses. The Tynong Town Garage Sale runs from 9am until 2pm.
