A shared storytime has become a permanent fixture at Cockatoo.
In response to a positive six-month trial, Cardinia Mobile Library has altered its schedule to allow a pre-school storytime in the hills township.
Casey Cardinia Libraries customer experience manager Beth Luppino said storytimes were hugely popular in the region’s libraries.
“Storytime introduces children to a wide range of children’s books, stimulates new ideas and interests, helps develop language skills and provides a chance to socialise,” Ms Luppino said.
“The children in Cockatoo will love it!”
At the storytime sessions, pre-schoolers aged three to five and their parents/carers enjoy songs, rhymes, stories and a suitable activity or craft.
Storytime sessions are free and held only during school terms.
The Cardinia Mobile Library’s Thursday storytime sessions are 11am-12noon at Nar Nar Goon Primary School, 12.30-1.30pm at Koolbirra Road, Maryknoll, and in Cockatoo at the bowling club site from 2.30-3pm.
