He’s performed for the Queen of England, and now Koorie educator Ron Murray can add Cardinia Primary School students to his list of spectators.
The Wamba Wamba man paid a visit to the school on 2 August to share his culture with students.
For many, it was the first time they had experienced Aboriginal storytime, but according to school staff, all students warmly embraced it.
Students were treated to a didgeridoo performance, and learnt about Indigenous culture through story and song.
Cardinia Primary School teacher Jodie Mattingley said students had thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, which coincided with National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day on 4 August.
Ms Mattingley said thanks to the positive feedback school staff were hoping to make Aboriginal culture an integral part of the school curriculum.
Other notable people Ron has performed for include Muhammad Ali, Yusam Islam and Sir Bob Geldof.
