The match between Lang Lang and Nyora on Saturday held extra significance with the game taking place for the inaugural Beyond Blue Trophy donated by Nyora captain Jake Hackett.
Owing to the inclement weather the game was declared a draw with both sides claiming a moral victory.
On Saturday night the spotlight turned to the Lang Lang Hall where the crowd heard a talk on the issues associated with depression, anxiety disorders and related mental disorders.
Nyora President Don Scott welcomed everyone to the event and introduced guest speaker Gary Friend, who gave a wonderful and informative talk on the subject.
This was the first year of the Beyond Blue Trophy but all agreed it was a huge success and will only get bigger as the years roll by. On behalf of Lang Lang I would like to congratulate Nyora Cricket Club on showing such great initiative for a good cause.
