Healthy habits are part of the culture at Outlook, and they have the certificate to prove it.
As part of the Victorian Prevention and Health Promotion Achievement Program for workplaces, the Pakenham-based social enterprise organisation has just received its first level of accreditation as a workplace with a strong focus on the health and wellbeing of its staff and volunteers.
It was recently recognised for its efforts by the Cancer Council with a formal certificate.
Despite reaching this status, the organisation has vowed to continue its work in creating and sustaining a safe and healthy workplace, with the support of Monash Health health promotion staff.
“Outlook has already introduced a number of health and wellbeing initiatives within the organisation including; outdoor staff /volunteers stretching before starting their shift, fruit bowls in all worksite kitchens, a conscious decision to not have drink vending machines but offering access to chilled water, as well as no smoking at work sites,” a Monash Health spokesperson said.
“These actions complement and are consistent with internal policies and plans.
The spokesperson said the benefit for the organisation was that “staff and volunteers are happier and healthier, thus being more productive and providing a win-win situation for all”.
