A woman has been rushed to Dandenong Hospital after she lost consciousness in the pool at Cardinia Life on Wednesday afternoon.Emergency services rushed to the facility amid reports a female in her 20s had become submerged underwater.

Several school groups were visiting the aquatic centre and witnessed the incident unfold.

According to Ambulance Victoria, the patient, a woman in her 20s, was conveyed by stretcher in a critical condition.

However, Alligned Leisure – the operator of the facility – is adamant that the woman had fallen ill, resulting in her losing consciousness while in the pool.

They say the woman, who was a staff member in the facility, is stable.
