Cyclist critical after crash

The 31-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A cyclist is fighting for life after he was struck by a vehicle in Beaconsfield on Thursday 12 December, about 9.20pm.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed the 31-year-old Beaconsfield man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition with multiple injuries after colliding with a silver Ford Falcon on the Old Princes Highway.

The driver, believed to be a 19-year-old woman from Pakenham, was taken into police custody where she was assisting officers with their enquiries.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
