Drug-driver detected

The vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1280.

A woman was detected driving under the influence of drugs in Officer on Friday 10 April.

Cardinia Highway Patrol intercepted a white Toyota as part of Operation Nexus.

The disqualified driver tested positive to methylamphetamine.

Whilst committing the offences, the driver and passenger were also found to be in breach of the stay home directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and were issued a $1652 penalty notice.

The directions, under the state of emergency declared in Victoria, have been enacted to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

The vehicle was impounded at a cost of $1280 for repeated driving whilst on a disqualified licence and the woman will face court at a later date.
