A Pakenham man will face court after refusing to undergo a second roadside drug test on Friday 9 October.
In the morning, officers from Cardinia Highway Patrol intercepted a black Mitsubishi in a hardware store car park.
A licence check revealed the 48-year-old man’s licence has been cancelled and he was disqualified from obtaining a new one as a result of drug driving.
The driver underwent a roadside preliminary drug test which returned a positive result for an illicit substance.
He then refused to stick around for further testing.
The offender’s vehicle was immediately impounded for a period of 30 days and he will be required to attend court where an application will be made for his vehicle to be forfeited.
The penalty for a first offence of refusing a roadside drug or alcohol test is a minimum two year licence cancellation and a substantial fine.
