Calf deaths investigated

Up to 40 calves have sadly died and many more have taken ill in a suspected poisoning at a farm in West Gippsland.

Victoria Police have confirmed they’re investigating a report that a number of livestock died at a Princes Highway property in Darnum, near Warragul, between Saturday 28 November and Sunday 29 November.

It is believed up to 40 calves died after 75 animals became unwell on the Saturday.

A police spokeswoman said the causeĀ of the deaths is yet to be established and the investigation is ongoing.
