It may look a little different this year, but the Cardinia Shire Council are excited to be once again hosting a range of musical performances for the Lake Side Sounds festival over the coming weeks – only this time, they’ll be taking to the virtual stage.

The Cardinia Civic Concert Band will be the first act to perform in a stellar line up of local musicians, as they serenade audiences with their wide repertoire of music online at 3pm on Sunday 14 March.

With members aged between 10 and 80 years of age, the Cardinia Civic Concert Band is clearly a band for one and all and have made a name for themselves as a premier band, having toured internationally to countries such as Germany and the Czech Republic in the past.

A range of other acts will follow in their footsteps, with Clint Wilson and The Velvet Valley and Caity Henryk taking to the online stage at 3pm on Sunday 21 March, and Hannah Schmidli and James Franklin enchanting audiences the following weekend, on Sunday 28 March.

Clint Wilson is a renowned acoustic songwriter and storyteller, whose influences draw from country, folk and americana, while local songstress Caity Henryk will wow listeners with her gentle acoustic pop sounds and strong, husky voice.

The third event will see another talented young singer, Hannah Schmidli, take to the stage with her indie, acoustic songs and her recent jazz and blues experimentation, and finally followed by James Franklin, a soul, pop artist with a unique, captivating sound.

Mr Franklin is excited to be sharing a new collection of songs at this event as well, before he heads back to the studio to do some more recording sessions.

So if kicking back on the couch and listening to some local, live music sounds like a perfect Sunday afternoon to you, be sure to tune in to the Lake Side Sounds events over the next few weeks.

Performances will be streamed on the Cardinia Shire Council Facebook page and are free for everyone to enjoy, and are proudly presented by the council and 3MDR 97.1 FM.
