The Gurdwara Siri Guru Nanak Darbar (Sikh Temple) will launch a pop-up vaccination hub in Officer to help the community to get their Covid-19 vaccines.

The Sikh community has partnered with EACH Health to administer Covid-19 vaccines from Friday 1 October until Monday 4 October, between 9.30am-4pm each day.

The community has been working with health authorities who will administer Covid-19 vaccines in line with eligibility requirements.

People can walk in to get vaccinated – no bookings required. A pick-up/drop-off service is available within 10km of the temple on request.

Community members are encouraged to bring their family and friends along to get vaccinated.

“I am pleased to be working with the Victorian Department of Health to bring the vaccination closer to people in a setting that’s familiar to them,” said Harpreet Kandra, a volunteer at Gurdwara Siri Guru Nanak Darbar.

People are reminded that if they are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or are in isolation, they must not attend the vaccination clinic.

They can make an appointment when they have finished their isolation period and have a negative test result.

The Temple will accommodate ample space for six booths and will administer up to 250 vaccines per day.

Private spaces for individuals and families will also be provided on request.

There will be plenty of onsite parking and interpreters will be available.

“I encourage everybody in the Indian, Sikh community and in the wider Officer community to get vaccinated as it will help keep you and your family safe,” Mr Kandra said.

The pop-up vaccination hub will be held at Gurdwara Siri Guru Nanak Darbar (Sikh Temple), 33 Officer Rd, Officer.

For pick-up/drop-off, call 0433 065 357.
