Woman airlifted to hospital after Cardinia crash

A woman was airlifted to hospital on Monday afternoon following a car accident on Ballarto Road, Cardinia.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident on Ballarto Road at about 12.40pm on Monday 22 November.

An SES spokesperson said that the single vehicle crash, involving a “Holden sedan”, appeared to have happened after the car “hit a power pole and rolled” while travelling along Ballarto Road.

“The driver was out of the car when we arrived,” they said.

A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said that paramedics had treated the female patient at the scene and she was later transferred to hospital by helicopter.

“Ambulance Victoria was called to a report of a single car crash at approximately 12.40pm in Cardinia,” the spokesperson said.

“Paramedics treated one woman for upper body injuries and she was flown by air ambulance helicopter to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

“There are no details on her condition at this stage,” they said.
