CARDINIA WATERS BOWLS

Midweek Report

It is season over for all Cardinia Waters Pennant teams after side two lost its first midweek semi-final to Willow Lodge last Tuesday.

Cardinia Waters carried some hope into this game, after being able to select their best team after a year of many disruptions.

Having won their last two games against the ‘Lodgers’ the ‘Villagers’ should have had some chance.

But the hoped-for win was denied by a very good Willow Lodge combination, who outplayed Cardinia Waters on all three rinks to record a 71-41 victory.

The players were well supported by a contingent of supporters who travelled to Dandenong South to watch the match.

While this game was in progress the other semi-final was being played between Dandenong RSL Rec and Dandenong Club.

Held at Keysborough this final saw a convincing victory to Dandenong RSL, who then met Willow Lodge in the section grand final on Thursday at Berwick Bowling Club.

In warm conditions and on a grass green the Willow Lodge team won a hard-fought Section Final by 13 shots.

Pennant Bowls now takes a well-earned break, and this column will return to the Gazette pages later in the year.
