Ladies Open 4BBB a huge success at Drouin

The Drouin Golf Club recently held its Ladies Open 4BBB event kindly sponsored by Clarks Blinds and Screens.

A great field of 50 players participated from the following clubs; Berwick Montuna, Deep Creek, Garfield, Keysborough, Mirboo North, Mornington, Traralgon, Warragul and the home-club Drouin.

Division 1 winners were Joy Marriott and Julie Keeble from Warragul with 44 points.

Runners up were Glenda Warren (Drouin) and Cheryl Trickett (Warragul) with 40 points on a countback.

Division 2 winners were Nancy Alderson and Linda Downward with 45 points.

Runners up were Karen Adams and Robyn Carville (Drouin) with 44 points.

Down the line balls went to Judy Dixon (Drouin) and Wendy Gervasi (Mirboo North) with 40 points on a countback, and also to Sue Hatfield and Michelle Fairlie (Drouin) with 40 points.

Nearest the pins went to: 5th Jill Gay, 8th (Second Shot- Michelle Fairlie), 10th Kylie Wendt and 14th Joy Marriott.

Drouin’s Monday Pennant team had a 4-1 win over Warragul A team in Round 2 in another great result for the club.

On Saturday 25 March the winner of the stableford event was Kay Feaver (15) with 36 points and runner up was Marg Purcell (18) with 35 points.

This week is the Open Day 4BBB event, again proudly sponsored by Clarks Screens and Blinds.

Greens have now been cored so today’s event will be Stableford, coinciding with the Grandmother’s Trophy.

The April Medal Day will now be held on Tuesday 11 April.

Tuesday 18 April is the Anthony Bambridge 4BBB event so players will need to team up with a partner for this competition.

Mens

A Four-Person Gentsomes competition was played on Saturday.

18 teams competed for the day with the best two scores from each hole being counted to the team total.

A great score of 100 points was the winning total with the team consisting of Peter Smith, Michael Smith, Ben Smith and Anthony Radcliffe.

Down the Line balls went to Shaun Doak, Craig Stevens, Ray Smith and Glen Ward with 96 points and Rob Brew, Vic Bradshaw, Geoff Percival and Tim Shannon with 95.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Ray Smith, 8th Chris Perry, 10th Paul Barratt and 14th Shane Dwyer.

Unfortunately, the weather hindered play on Wednesday and no competition was played.

Upcoming competitions this week are all Stableford; Wednesday, Saturday and Easter Monday.
