Phillip island’s dominance of fourths football has continued with the Bulldogs winning their third-consecutive premiership with an 8.6.54 to 4.3.27 victory over Warragul Industrials.

The Dusties were the better team early, with goals to Cody Templeton, Thomas Cornwall and Tom Logan kicking them out to a 12-point lead at quarter time.

Bulldogs coach Steve Duggan instructed his team to limit the impact of the Dusties’ midfielders around the stoppages, and his team responded in the second term.

Unanswered goals to Oliver Duggan, Ben Chihotski and Max Taylor saw the Doggies take an eight-point lead to the major break, before skipper Finn O’Brien kicked the only goal of the third quarter to set up a 13-point lead at three-quarter time.

Duggan kicked two in two minutes at the start of the fourth quarter to basically lock in the premiership win.

Duggan kicked three for the Dogs, while Jack Briggs won the best-on-ground medal for an impressive display as the best tall in the contest.

The Dusties looked lively early, with Templeton superb through the midfield, while Ben Allsop, Jarrod West and Thomas Vickery can all hold their heads high in defeat.
