Teamwork talks for Berwick

UNDER 11

Berwick White and Pakenham Maroon remain undefeated after three rounds of SEJ Blue.

Berwick had a strong 64-point win over Cranbourne with Lincoln Mulholland 3, Thomas Curtis 2, Kade Freeman 2 and Jacob Horbury 2 sharing the goals around.

Pakenham got the better of Berwick Springs Blue, with Archie Drake-Molineux backing up his five goals against Clyde last week with another bounty of four.

Shea Perkins, Noah De Bono and Kaleb Boothey were others to shine for the Lions, while Floyd Sullivan and Aston Riddington never gave up for the Titans.

Three goals to Brayden Hayle weren’t enough for Clyde to shake off Narre North Foxes Grey, with goals to Kade Foster 4, Emin Berjaoui 2 and Jett Keating 2 leading the Foxes to victory.

And Mason Curry 3 and Darcy Cowlishaw 2 dominated the scoring for Officer Blue against Lyndhurst.

In Under-11 Red, Fountain Gate sang its song for the first time this season after a great win over Pakenham Blue.

Ryan Meadows was star for the Gators with four goals while Cameron Adamson booted home two for the Lions.

Officer Black had a strong win over Narre South Saints with Finn Whittaker, Jayden Elstree, Callahan Morrow, Alexander Jones, Mason Sloan, Jack Phelan and Lachlan O’Leary among the better players.

Berwick Navy made it two wins from three games, with Cooper de Vink kicking three and William Griffiths two in a win over Berwick North, while Jackson Ball, Levi Latinopoulos and Jade Kelly all had an impact in Narre Warren Black’s 21-point win over Officer White.

UNDER 12 GIRLS

Officer’s great teamwork continues to shine with the Kangaroos working hard for each other in a 34-point win over Pakenham.

Charli Matthey kicked two goals and was joined by Maci Healey, Mila Glasgow, Olivia Cattunar, Mia Prentice, Audrey Muxlow and Jaimee Reynolds as good players on the day.

Mia Martin, Nature Roussety, Charlotte Statton and Emily Taranto all played well in Clyde’s 23-point win over Cranbourne Blue, while Narre North Foxes remain undefeated after a great win over Berwick White.

Taleah Cole, Arnika Gajdobranski, Meeka Gajdobranski, Antonia Giampa, Angelina Purcivall and Zali White all kicked goals for the Foxes.

UNDER 12

There were some impressive performances in Under-12s beginning with Brody Larner kicking three goals and Mason Palmer two in Cranbourne Blue’s strong win over Berwick Springs Blue.

Narre North Foxes Black showed great teamwork against Pakenham Maroon, with Liam Quirk 3, Bernard Brady 2, Baxter Dinnie 2, Jaxon Kosky 2, Seth Nield 2, Zachary Smith 2, Kobe Constance, Callum McInerney, Cooper Morrison and Blake Wilson all hitting the scoreboard in a big day against the Lions.

Jake Day and William Mita kicked three each, and Harry King two, as Officer Blue defeated Lyndhurst, while three goals to Harry Viney and two to Romeo Miller led Narre Warren Black to a 33-point win over Berwick Navy.

Brayden Hayle backed up his three goals in the Under-11s with another three in Clyde’s victory over Narre North Foxes Grey, while Archer Freeman jagged two in Berwick White’s big win over Officer.

The Kangaroos may have been defeated on the scoreboard but Joshua Catrucco, Cruz Curry, Nate Fletcher, Owen Quinn, Jayden Worrell and Jace Toleman played great games and enjoyed their Sunday afternoon playing football.

UNDER 13

Berwick White’s undefeated start to the year continued on Saturday against Frankston to have them riding high at the top of the Premier Division table.

Adam Winterton, Zach Westerveld and Dustan Priela each kicked multiple goals in the 82-48 result to leave them as the only undefeated team through three rounds.

Pakenham Maroon held Lyndhurst goalless in a 58-point win in Navy, while Cranbourne and Narre Warren were the big winners in Gold.

A 71-point win over Langwarrin saw Cranbourne Blue belt out the song for the first time this season while Narre Warren Black secured an important four points in a six-goal win over Berwick Navy.

Jakc Viney was among Narre Warren’s bests, but the Gazette was unable to confirm if it was the Melbourne Demons hard nut swapping the red and blue for black and white.

Elsewhere, Pearcedale and Narre North Black showed their respective defensive prowess with strong wins over Berwick Springs Green and Officer, respectively, in Blue division.

UNDER 14

Berwick’s White Girls team kept Chelsea to a scoreless first half in a 55-point win at home and Cranbourne Blue showed signs of improvement in a 35-point loss to Karingal.

Narre Warren’s Black Girls side, meanwhile, kept Clyde scoreless for an entire game in a 61-0 win, powered by its big three up forward in Amelia Sivyer (four foals), Anya Kalabun (three) and Lily Frazer (two).

Five goals to Narre North Black’s Leila Hyland, meanwhile, helped the Foxes to their opening win of the season, winning 84-8 against Mornington.

Cranbourne’s Blue Boys showed enormous heart, storming home with a strong final quarter to track down Langwarrin in a 13-point win, having trailed at every interval in the contest.

Devon Meadows remains the team to beat in Blue division, undefeated after three weeks thanks to a 47-point win over Mount Eliza.

The team’s leaders in Andrew Fitzgerald and Chadd Tootell were instrumental in the result, as was Austin Nicholas.

Berwick Springs Blue is just one win behind, however, having downed Frankston Red by 22 points.

Narre North Black opened its account in Gold with a 46-point win over Officer White, having kept the ‘Roos goalless for three quarters.

Berwick Navy got the better of Narre South by 21 points in Navy division to move into second but they sit a long way behind a powerful Lyndhurst outfit in first place, undefeated and with a percentage of 817.95.

The Lightning thrashed Frankston Rovers by 96 points and has a 153-point win already to their name.

Berwick’s White Boys side, however, is the team to beat in Premier Division, thanks to a 33-point win over Langwarrin to remain undefeated.

UNDER 15

Berwick White completed a sensational comeback against Langwarrin Blue to prevail by a point in Premier Division.

The Wickers trailed by 11 points at the final break but kicked four goals to two in the final term to sneak home by the slimmest of margins, 9.7 61 to 9.6 60, led by Christian Arcaro’s three goals.

Berwick Springs Blue had a far-less stressful outing against Cranbourne Blue, thanks to five goals from Riley Saraceni and four from Hudson Dennis.

The Titans prevailed by 63 points, with Jack Wood kicking three for the Eagles.

Narre North Foxes Black, meanwhile, was unable to hold back a charging South Mornington in Blue Division, relinquishing a three-quarter-time lead to go down by eight points.

UNDER 16 BOYS

Cranbourne’s Charlie Ellis filled his boots on Saturday with six goals in the Eagles’ 131-point win over Chelsea.

Skipper Brodie Whittaker kicked four, that pair among 11 goal kickers for Cranny.

Elsewhere, Devon Meadows had a 23-point loss to Edi-Asp, while Mount Eliza got away from Officer in the second quarter.

Fountain Gate had a tight win over a fast-finishing Carrum Patterson Lakes, while Berwick Springs went down to a strong Tyabb side.

Meanwhile, Berwick Springs went down by 14 points to Pearcedale despite big games from Flynn Howard, Riley Finnegan and Calvin Michie, and Oliver Geerts best efforts couldn’t stave off a rampant Dromana for Narre North.

UNDER 16 GIRLS

Sienna Alievski, Amelia Wickman and Chloe Winter all scored goals in Fountain Gate’s 18-point victory over Devon Meadows after a scrappy start.

Jana Asai and Maddy’lee Johnson were the best for Officer in a heartbreaking four-point loss to Mount Eliza, with none of the game’s six goals scored in a tense final term.

Cranbourne kept Frankston scoreless, with Sienna Parker, Asha Kennedy and skipper Marlie Wood all scoring multiple goals.

Berwick went down by 24 points despite Sienna Stojanovic continuing her goal-kicking ways, while Carrum Patterson Lakes proved too strong for Pakenham.

Berwick Springs wasn’t able to match it with Bonbeach but Jaylina Van Sanden and Darcey maas both gave their best effort.

Gun quartet Annie Clish, Lilly Brittain, Scarlett Mills and Ella Bologa all hit the scoreboard in Narre North’s four-point victory over Frankston Dolphins.

UNDER 17 BOYS

Austin Fardell’s four goals have helped Narre North to a tense five-point win over Carrum Patterson Lakes.

A four goal second quarter got the Foxes going after an even start.

Jack Bellinger, Riley Brosnan and Bailey Coller gave their all for Berwick Springs in its 17-point loss to Mornington, while an inaccurate Narre South was too good for Langwarrin.

Cranbourne had an eight-point win over Berwick, with multiple goal-kickers Jordan Bayler and Jacob Mair and Zach Morale all important for their teams in a low-scoring match where just 11 goals were dobbed.

Brock Lyons’ bag of five wasn’t enough for Pakenham, which went down by 50 points to Edi-Asp, while Ben Devenish’s four majors helped Berwick to victory over Officer.

UNDER 18 GIRLS

Josie Holloway and Makayla Cherrill’s five goals were behind Devon Meadows’ victory over Langwarrin, captain Mackenzie Krogh kicked four in a big win for Berwick, while Officer and Narre North were outclassed by Mount Martha and Chelsea Carrum Patterson Lakes respectively.
