POLICE are calling for witnesses after a livestock truck inadvertently pushed a sedan along the Monash Freeway for several hundred metres just before midday yesterday.
Highway Patrol Leading Senior Constable John Morten said the 25-year-old truck driver from Longford travelling west was unaware the red sedan had made contact with the truck at 11.45am and eventually found itself at the front of the vehicle.
“He has pushed the vehicle for 150 to 200 metres up the road, just past the Cardinia Road interchange,” Con Morten said.
“He thought his brakes had locked up as there was smoke coming from the front of the truck.”
The driver of the truck, a 38-year-old Pakenham woman driving the sedan and her son were uninjured in the accident.
The car is expected to be a write-off.
Witnesses to the incident can call Pakenham Police on (03) 5945 2500.
