Do you feel comfortable walking or running in the area by yourself?
Pakenham Road Runners are a group that meet each day to exercise together in numbers. Would you consider joining a exercise group?

Kylie-Anne McLeish: No, I know how to defend myself and I walk to actually get away from people.
Belinda Orford: Best thing I’ve done is joining Pakenham Road Runners. I used to think I preferred running alone too, until I met this fantastic group of guys and girls!
Brie Britton: I used to. Not anymore.
Lyn Van: There are plenty of Heart Foundation Walking groups in Cardinia Shire. Sometimes, though, you just need to go for a walk by yourself. The more people there are out walking the safer it is for everyone.
Kc Brown: Nope, have a 60kg Rottie. No one comes near me.
Sharon Temby: I used to walk/run; not anymore! I keep every door and window locked tight when I’m home by myself; so very sad to feel so unsafe in Melbourne and surrounds but especially Pakenham! When we moved here 15 years ago we had doors and windows open and the kids could play out front very safely.
Joanne Walsh: I walk the lake most mornings but feel very safe as there are so many people that time of day. But will not walk on my own other than at the lake (unless I take my Labrador with me).
Sue Atkinson: I walk on my own, I stay on high traffic areas eg: McGregor Road etc. I always lock the house. Better to be safe than sorry. Toomuc Reserve scares me.
Ryan Banik: I wish the council would connect Pakenham with Beaconsfield with a walking/running/cycling path. Less chance of getting attacked if you’re exercising along the highway. There is no parks with good walking tracks. If I do I usually go to Lysterfield or to my friends place in Belgrave. There is just nothing between Pakenham and Beaconsfield.
