AT Berwick Grammar School, the boys are spoilt for choice when it comes to their senior studies.
From the Year 9 electives where students can learn anything from aviation to psychology to the Year 10 program where boys can select their first VCE offerings in the usual areas as well as popular subjects like media and design technology, boys are encouraged to follow their passions and to learn using real world skills.
The school offers subjects that it believes give boys a chance to express their practical side while still offering high level academic subjects such as the sciences and specialist mathematics.
The English Department offers English Language alongside English as it is a more applied English where boys can study language as it is used in society.
Many Grammar boys choose to undertake an external study to help to prepare them for the workplace alongside their VCE and they are supported within the school structure by having study periods to allow them to effectively use their time.
Alongside the VCE program, the school ensures that boys get enough time to be active with many amazing camps and sporting opportunities offered within the school day so that weekends are free to play for their favourite club.
The school’s belief is that boys are best prepared by a supportive, yet challenging environment and teachers who really know them well.
