LOCAL hairdresser Joseph Debrincat brings the style of Paris to the people of Pakenham.
With a wealth of experience in the field, Joseph now runs Foxy Salon in Upper Beaconsfield.
Growing up in the area, he moved to the city to complete his hairdressing apprenticeship at a salon on Chapel Street.
He then worked in Brighton for four years before returning to Upper Beaconsfield in 1997 and starting a family.
Never far from a salon, he worked from his mother’s house before starting Foxy Hair Salon in 2004. Since then the business has thrived, as has Joseph’s hairdressing career.
“Fashion is always evolving, and at Foxy we strive to evolve with it,” he said.
“It’s always exciting and new. It’s a profession with endless possibilities, and at Foxy we enjoy passing that onto our clients.”
Not only is Joseph passionate about hairdressing, he’s also exceptionally talented.
His skills and experience were formally acknowledged in 2014 when he won the Labiosthetique National Beauty Stylist Award. Up against some “serious competition”, he then competed against 23 countries in Paris and took out the International Beauty Stylist Crown.
“It was an amazing experience full of Parisian glamour, and it felt so good flying home with the trophy,” he recalls.
Foxy Salon has gained a reputation for excellent service and styling, working with their clients to design the perfect look for each individual.
And Joseph’s best haircare tip?
“It’s always important to have characteristics of current fashion incorporated into your look,” he said.
“A beautiful haircut and a possible splash of colour tell the story of who you are and what you stand for.”
