SEVERAL thousand dollars were raised for cancer research at the Biggest Morning Tea event in Cardinia last week.
Raffles, markets and a giant feast were put on for about 115 people at E Gunton Oval in Cardinia on Thursday 28 May.
Organiser Roxanne Taranto said the event fetched $6722 for Cancer Council Victoria.
The Cardinia community has hosted the charity event annual since it was established, with Ms Taranto’s family taking over the reins about a decade ago.
“We have helped raised $55,000 since organising it 10 years ago,” she said.
A range of local business donated items for the raffle which helped generate almost half of the amount that will be used to fund cancer research and treatments.
