Change is coming

V/LINE’S changes to Pakenham and Sunbury services won’t be enforced until 1 January 2016.
The changes mean that when a train is going outbound, it will only pick up passengers at Pakenham and if it is going inbound it will only drop off at Pakenham.
This comes as the State Government is trying to clear up confusing rules regarding consistency of policy across the network.
V/Line managers said that this has long been the case for people using stations such as Sunshine, Broadmeadows and Dandenong.
“This will give customers six months to get used to the change and adjust their travel patterns to use the more frequent Metro trains from these station,” they said.
The State Government hopes the move will reduce congestion and overcrowding.
Customers face $217 fines for using V/Line trains from Pakenham or Sunbury into the city.
