Council vote boundaries set to change

A map of the proposed changes to electoral boundaries within Cardinia shire.

ELECTORAL boundaries in Cardinia shire could be different by the next election, with a subdivision review scheduled for next month.
Ward boundaries should reflect a 10 per cent average within the municipality so that each voter is equitably represented at council elections.
The Victorian Electoral Commission is now accepting public submissions regarding the matter, which will be decided at a public hearing on Wednesday 27 October.
The public are able to make submissions via a form available at www.vec.vic.gov.au/Reviews/Cardinarr.html, email to cardinia.review@vec.vic.gov.au or post to VEC, Level 11, 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000.
