Residents fear trashed car is ready to roll

The car has been unsteadily dumped on its roof on the top of the hill.

RESIDENTS fear an abandoned, burnout car that has been left on its roof on the top of a steep Pakenham block will roll and crash down onto properties, cars or pedestrians.
Calls have been made for the dangerous vehicle to be removed but Cardinia Shire Council said it’s not its problem.
The wrecked and vandalised car in Galway Grove Estate, better known as the former drift trike hotspot, was first reported to the council by police on Tuesday 17 May.
It was then reported as being on the road, owned by the council, and officers were sent out to inspect.
Cardinia’s co-ordinator for Compliance Services Shannon Maynard said the car has been dumped on private property and so there was nothing the council could do.
“A council officer attended the site and identified the car as being on private property.
“As the car is on private property, council does not have powers to take further action,” he said.
Residents took to social media to express their concerns over the precariously placed car.
“If some idiots push this dumped car any further it’s going to roll all the way down there,” one person wrote in a warning to Cardinia Grove residents.
The council did not indicate whether the responsible authority had been contacted to remove the vehicle.
