Put the squeeze on weeds

Friends of Emerald Lake Park members are holding a range of activities to help residents tackle weeds.

September is weedbusting time and Friends of Emerald Lake Park are helping residents to tackle weeds at home and in the community.
On Saturday 9 September residents can bring along bags of weeds for identification at the Trees for Weeds swap held outside the Emerald Library from 10am-2pm.
Community will be able to get expert advice for how to tackle weeds on their property, find out about grants that are available and take home free indigenous plants.
There will also be a display in the Emerald Library from 4-18 September.
On Sunday 10 September, a community weeding day will be held at Emerald Lake Park from 9am-noon, followed by a barbecue lunch.
Friends of Emerald Lake Park will also be working with Emerald Primary School students on their 12th annual Weedbuster Day, removing weeds from the bush and enjoying a barbecue lunch afterwards.
