Emergency services monitor the gas leak.

An unlucky resident accidentally punctured the main gas pipe out the front of his property with a shovel on Thursday 1 February.
Emergency services were called to the Hartland Circuit residence in Lakeside Pakenham at around 3pm to attend to the gas leak.
“I didn’t really think I’d dug that far,” the unfortunate resident said.
“The pipe wasn’t too far below the surface.
“As soon as it broke I called triple zero.”
The Pakenham CFA crew monitored the scene while police redirected traffic on either side of the street.
Although they could not estimate the cost of the damage, the CFA said an incident of this nature was not uncommon in the shire.
