A third person has died following a horrific crash on Kooweerup Road which also claimed the life of a young mother and her unborn baby.

The sole occupant of the white Ute, which police believe collided head on with a silver SUV on Thursday morning, 4 February, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 62-year-old man from Narre Warren North sadly died in hospital almost two weeks later, on Saturday 13 February, Victoria Police have confirmed.

Police have not yet revealed what led to the crash, which also killed Kooweerup mother Tess Clark, and her unborn baby, Asher.

Ms Clark’s two young children, Hunter and Archie, were in the backseat of the car at the time of the crash.

They both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution.

Ms Clark was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition but her and her unborn child both sadly died.

Their deaths have sent shockwaves throughout the community, with Ms Clark being remembered as a “proud and devoted mother who loved her boys more than anything on this earth”.

Almost $60,000 has been raised for the Clark family through a GoFundMe page.

Casey Highway Patrol officers will prepare a report for the Coroner.
