DEEP CREEK GOLF CLUB

After three gruelling weeks of Club Championship stroke-play off the blue markers – golfers enjoyed a stableford competition at Deep Creek on Saturday.

Steven Smith (12) was the best of the low markers, scoring 39 points to win A Grade by two shots from runner-up Peter Reilly (8).

The best round of the day was handed in by John McDonald (19), who scored 41 points to defeat the unlucky Matthew Hogan (17) by two shots in B Grade.

Shirley McGrath (30) also had a great day out, scoring 39 points to defeat runner-up Lyriq Bester (25) by one shot in C Grade.

Down the lines went to Anthony Franzi, Craig Clissold and Michael Anlanger with 39 points, Mick Boyd 38, Bob Naismith, Duncan Campbell, Ronald Zomer, Barry Williams and Dean Jones 37, John Piggott and Ross Maclean 36, and Patrick Farrell, Alex Green, Matt Lloyd, Anthony Kemsley, Jarred Bester, Robert North and Scott Irwin with 35 points.

Nearest the Pins: 2nd Hole: Anthony Kemsley (2.10m). 16th Hole: Brian Webster (0.86m).

There was a great card handed in on Wednesday with Robert Edwards (21) scoring 43 points to win A Grade by five shots from Frankie Chiu (7). Angie Peluso (38) scored 39 points to win B Grade by one shot from Jahvis Mateariki (33).

Down the lines went to Rod Beard, Harry Bolotin, Kevin Sutton, Carol Beard, John Piggott, Heath Barclay, Chris McConnell and Colin Crowle with 37 points, Harry Elaysie and Dean Jones 36, and to Noel Boyd, John Roberts and Ross Stewart on 35 points.

The Supercomp Front 9-winner was Angie Peluso with 24 points and nearest the pins went to: 2nd Hole: Noel Boyd (2.10m). 16th Hole: Alex Green (0.28m).

Yvonne Barrot (28) was the star of Thursday’s ladies’ competition, scoring 42 points to win by six shots from Leanne Barker (29) on 36.

Down the lines went to Julie Cheng and Kay Jones 34, and to Norma Crebbin, Suzanne Van Strien and Carol Beard on 30 points.

Nearest the pins (Second shots) went to 2nd Hole: Yvonne Barrot (0.50m) and 16th Hole: Suzanne Van Strien (0.46m).

Les Jones (23) scored 37 points to win Monday’s stableford competition on a countback from Kel Trickey (25). Down the lines went to John Piggott, Glenn Charles and Noel Boyd 34, David McMahon, John Curtin, Levi Sua, Ron Seamer and Heath Barclay 33, and to Rex Ryan, Christopher James and Rob Nobelius on 32 points. And Sunday’s stableford competition was won by Robert North (21) who scored 38 points to win by one from Kougar Lloyd (23).

Down the lines went to Matthew Hogan and Nick Gray with 36 points and to Heath Barclay with 35.
